Minimum Qualifications
- Two years of IT networking, cyber security, or similar hands on technical experience encompassing a combination of customer support, network, and security OR an associate degree in information technology, computer security, or closely related focus
- Documented experience demonstrating knowledge of cyber security best practices and frameworks such as the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), Center for Internet Security Critical Security Controls (CIS), or similar.
- Knowledge and experience applying the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) triad concept to determine risk probability and risk impact, as well as designing mitigating control(s) in alignment with the risk.
Preferences
- Any IT certification (i.e., Sec+ or Net+)
- One (1) year of experience with firewall traffic analysis
- One (1) year experience with vulnerability scanning
- One (1) year experience implementing, configuring, or using a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tool.
- One (1) year experience with Identity and Access Management Solutions or Mail Security Solutions.
- One (1) year of experience in a security operations role.
- Customer service experience

Duties And Responsibilities
- Performs security threat hunting, analysis, and response utilizing the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tool and other Department monitoring tools.
- Performs vulnerability management monitoring, tracking, and escalation.
- Participates in security incident response.
- Under the direction of the Section Leader, works to automate security tasks across the enterprise in support of enhancing security and productivity.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Familiarity with firewalls, general networking and subnetting, TCP/IP, and ports.
- Familiarity with vulnerability diagnostic tools, like Tenable Nessus and Nmap.
- Familiarity with EDR applications, IDS/IPS systems, and web application firewalls.
- Familiarity with email administration, security, and protection.
- Skills pertaining to scripting languages including Python, PowerShell, etc.
